This is a journal of a girl who was broken, bruised, and ashamed fighting for her life from the streets that tried to consume her. This is her account of her recovery through Christ as she chronicles the walking out of her salvation with fear and trembling before the Lord. This is a devotional, meant to help others in their journey through addiction recovery. "I was in exile. I was lost. I was captive to my own depravity and my own circumstances had me bound to the floor by chains that I put on my own limbs and attached to with locks so tight I couldnt move. Today, I seek God with all my heart and I find Him EVERYWHERE! My future is bright and I do have hope! My desire is to see more people come to know Jesus in an intimate way. I long to see the light come on in eyes that were so veiled that brilliance no longer shone from them. I want to see people free from the bondage that so easily entangles. I have a purpose and it is to be part of the Great Commission. I am ready and I am able! Galatians 5:1 - It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. The following pages depict my walk through recovery in Christ. They are from my own personal journals that I have held onto for dear life because of the great lessons I learned as I stepped out in faith on a daily basis, closer to my Lord and further away from the depravity of my past. Each entry is a direct, front row view into my heart. I went through Jacobs Well Recovery Center the first time as a married woman to another recovering addict. I graduated and lived life as a housewife and then manager of a retail chain. A relapse sent us both careening in opposite directions and divorce was imminent. I returned to Jacobs Well, graduated, and stayed on as staff with my new family. I have a beautiful life today all because of the sacrifices made by the ones who gave their lives so that I could be set free!!" I am honored to be a JWGirl4Life! (Jacobs Well Girl for LIFE)
